Borg India unveils solar power generators

According to reports, Borg India, a subsidiary of the US-based Borg, has launched solar power generators for the residential segment.

Borg’s Astra series for homes will be available from mid-January and will be followed up with solar power solutions for commercial, particularly small industries, and agriculture segment later this year.

Addressing media persons at the launch of the Astra series, Boaz Augustin, Chairman and Managing Director, Borg India, said the series dubbed the Astra Smart Grid Series is offering a ‘grid-fallback’ system by using solar power during the daylight to save cost of grid power.

Four variants are available in the Astra Series – Basic, a 500-watt unit, priced at Rs 48,000; Silver, the flagship product of 1,000 watts for Rs 87,000; Prime of 800 watts for Rs 1.59 lakh; and Gold, a 2,500-watt unit for Rs 2.59 lakh. The prices are net of subsidy.
