Wind sector looks to grow in India

According to reports, in the wake of recent statements made by the  Prime Minister of India during the Clean Energy Ministerial meet in New Delhi that the new initiative launched is to double the renewable energy to 55000 MW by 2017, Ramesh Kymal, chairman, Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association said that the statements gave confidence to the investors in the wind sector.

“Now we have a combined installation of 27500 MW of all RE and therefore additional 27500 MW will translate to a minimum of 15000 to 18000 MW by wind in the next five years which would be 3000 MW minimum per annum,” he noted.

He said that it  would rejuvenate and boost the sector with more investments in the wind industry.
